“Get a Grip” isn’t just a catchy phrase—it’s an empowering mantra and a call to action. It’s about taking control, guiding change, inspiring outcomes, and not taking ourselves too seriously. It’s about taking charge of our fitness and our lives, even when things don’t go as planned.
In fitness and life, “Getting a Grip” means saying, “I’ve got this.” Whether we’re gripping weights in our garage gym, riding out a hot flash, tackling our very first workout, or holding strong against our favorite juk food when we're trying to create better habits. Being strong when it counts, but also recognizing it’s okay to enjoy life’s moments. Staying in control isn’t about perfection—it’s about making choices that feel right for you at the time.
When you “Get a Grip,” you’re owning your journey, embracing it, and moving forward—stronger than ever. How awesome is it to say, “I’m getting a grip on ___”? Whatever it is, you’ve got this.
Sometimes, we’re holding on to the wrong things: stress, doubt, old habits, or unrealistic expectations. We grip tightly to routines or mindsets that no longer serve us. (Guilty!)
As we age, our fitness and priorities might change. It can be hard to accept sometimes, but it’s part of the journey. It doesn’t mean we stop kicking ass—it just means we kick ass harder!
Ask yourself: What am I gripping so tightly that's holding me back? An old mindset? Outdated routine? Pressure to be who we used to be? Let it go. Loosening your grip can create space for new possibilities, fresh strength, and unexpected victories. I’m living proof of all of these things.
When we let go of the things weighing us down, we free yourselves to grab onto what truly matters: our goals, our strength, our journey. Let go of whatever it is and you’ll find more room to grab hold of what moves you forward.
When we Get a Grip on what really matters, that’s when the magic happens.
Love,
The GGL
