So, here I am—52 years old and diving headfirst into the world of blogging. Writing has always been something I’ve wanted to explore, and Get a Grip is my space to do just that. Plus, let’s be honest—brain fog is REAL! This blog double downs as a way to remember what I was thinking (or doing) at any given time.
Maybe I’m writing for myself, maybe I’m writing for you. Either way, it’s happening, and I’m excited to see where it takes us. Do I have it all figured out? Nope. But I’m here for it, and I hope you are too.
Writing is therapeutic for me—a chance to reflect and share my journey through fitness, midlife, and all the chaos that comes with being a woman at this stage of life. If you’re navigating it like I am (and dealing with what feels like 102 peri-menopause symptoms), you know. It’s a crazy-ass wild ride. Why? Just Whhhyyy?
That it becomes a space where we can:
Laugh at things like needing glasses to find our glasses.
Cry because the kids are leaving home, and now we have to figure out what to do with our husbands (and ourselves!).
Push ourselves harder than ever in the garage gym.
Remind ourselves we’re not alone in this beautifully insane, chaotic, happy time of life.
This is where I’ll share whatever’s on my mind. If even one thing I write resonates with or inspires you—if it makes aging, fitness, or the Midlife Fit Life a little more manageable, fun, and laughable—then I’ll call that a win.
Here’s to this new adventure, and here’s to us—strong bad ass middle age women. Welcome to Get a Grip!
